Apple Lossless codec metadata import

i have large music library (over 600gb) need convert bwf.  hoping use audition (cs6) conversion can't find other tool w/o trying compress mp3. (dbpoweramp ad metadata if compress audio, i'm trying avoid).

 

audition not pick metadata in alac files.  read metadata in mp3 fine, though.  audition import alac metadata?  if so, have make work.  if not, how can metadata bwf/wav format w/o compressing mp3 first?

well, after digging around better part of week, found couple of solutions.  it's surprising how little info out there metadata formats these various audio file formats.  anyway,  xld mac read apple lossless file , create uncompressed .wav both 'id3' , 'info' chunk data. haven't been able find out data looks map-wise.  track numbers not seem coming across, @ least i'm getting album artist title format cs6 recognizes.

 

dbpoweramp on windows metadata, requires compress file.

 

it still great know why cs6 not picking alac metadata natively.   ideas?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
