hi folks,   this 1 little bit of puzzle.   i've got 3 video streams friend in france, delivered in seperate audio/video streams (ac3 / m2v).   we 'marry' them in premiere create h264 mov, 16:9 ratio of 768 x 432, about 2 meg / sec data rate, mp3 audio @ 44.1 / 160kbps.   once done, letterbox them down 640 x 480 sorenson squeeze flash flv, compressing 30 minute, 350 meg mov half sise in flv web streaming.    at 640 x 480, movies play quite nicely, letterboxed, go "full screen", on computer screen, distorted, stretched horizontally way out of proportion.   we're using licenced version of flowplayer stream flash files content server.   would have clue how full-screen playback controlled to play proportionally video rez that's rendered in flash file?   thanks feedback ...   gary why letterboxing widescreen content?  upload 768 x 432. i'm using kubuntu 11.10 64-bit. have 2 partitions (root + home). how make backup can restore system exact state in? know use clonezilla make image. hello,  i've installed cf10 , installed mandatory update.  go cf administrator, , see 8 updates available (1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9 - there no 3 showing).  if go straight update 9 (which says includes previous updates), , run "download , install" appears install it.  however, strange.  appears put files right place (at least in hf-updates directory) , recognizes update had been downloaded.  shows not updated.  "download , install" button replaced "re-download" button.  "installed updates" tab returns blank, , updates.xml file blank.  i've installed , re-installed cf several times.  i've run updates manually auto updater.  here strange.  if start @ update 1 , run it, works fine.  if run update 2, runs fine.  there no update 3 shows (strange) , if run update 4, that's starts breaking , not reflecting update, though seems in place, @ least in hf-updates directory.  after update 9, version shows 10,0,0,284568 , not 10,0,0,9xx...

there nothing wrong clip @ online before download , when download sound syncs video, when bring clip premier pro , play sound starts off once again in sync, end of clip sound out of sync picture. when go export video sequence same thing clip starts out fine,  on time becomes out of sync. premier doing , why? premiere pro professional level editor designed work standardized camera formats.  many non-standard formats may work, not all.  best option stick using source material shot using supported camera format, rather videos downloaded off internet. i'm sorry if specific problem has been addressed here already, couldn't find it. here's problem in nutshell: wife's macbook pro's hard drive failed , decided replace ssd. since our osx dvd mia, and, ubuntu user, decided @ least try ubuntu first before buying new copy of lion ($30 cheap, free better). ubuntu installer recognizes disk, seems partition , install software on it, @ end, around or right before puts grub on, fails. so, tried debian in hope more verbose installer give me hint problem was. debian installer said installation succeeded, disk wouldn't boot. here's question: has out there tried install ubuntu (/debian/any other linux) on bare macbook? i've tried both intel- , ocz-brand ssds on computer, , both fail. there problem computer, happily boot , run ubuntu live cd. have bit of experience running linux on intel macs, know (or think) it's not stupid mistake. i've been wondering if refit help, without...

i installing ubuntu server on a: hp proliant dl380 g4 dual cpu's 3.20 ghz / 800 mhz / 1mb l2 5120 mb ram 6 hard disks on hp smart array 6i controller (36.4 gb ultra320 scsi hd each) using server capture vhs video, encode, compress, cut, edit, make dvd's, rip dvd's, re-encode more, convert large uncompressed files routine. have options: #1) raid set raid 5 (5 discs) 1 spare (6th disk) liked option, because of spare. disks getting older, going brake down, , need redundancy. however, thought parity processing slow down encoding process. !!! #2) raid 1+0 thought faster, can either 4 disks mirrored (leaves me 2 disks size of 36.4gb x2)... have 1 spare, , 1 scsi disk not being used sitting in server.
