hi there, experimenting bit miro (the link , media aggregator). use version official ubuntu 11.10 repos. guess 3.5x. on amd e-350 dualcore (2x1.6 ghz) miro has tendency behave sluggish @ start. can see 100% cpu-load in top. after while (if ui has been rendered) cpu load drops bit. nevertheless see 40% load miro main-process , 30-35% python sub-process. , without doing inside miro. browsing webpages inside miro or starting multiple torrent downloads result first in non-responding program , enough see miro process vanish in second place. idea of miro having media in 1 place , install media pc connected our 32" flatbed tv not in current state of program. has of had similar issues miro ? tia, holger i have miro installed in 10o4 , yes, uses lot of resources , videos not download. still it. wont long before new media player out may replace miro in box. http://www.ubuntu.com/tv ...

my fine muse site displaying incorrectly. when tried re-upload (after re-saving it), got following error message:   error creating folder/scripts. click resume try again. if problem persists, try later. i have ubuntu 11.10 installed. yesterday followed this guide in order uninstall gnome screensaver (black screen) , install xscreensaver. worked fine. first time opened xscreensaver, dialog opened stating ws not running, , asked if wanted run it. said yes. worked day. morning, when restarted system, noticed screensaver had chosen did not go on, blank screen. when opened xscreensaver, dialog opened again, asking if wanted run on monitor (like first time). exact message follows: "the xscreensaver daemon doesn't seem running on display ':0'. launch now?" so, i'm wondering if there's way keep xscreensaver running after shutdown? don't want have tell run every time shut down. thanks! any ideas? tried recover deleted music files. system has gone haywire. not enough space boot apparently. can boot off cd , see files can't life of me thing boot off hard drive. reinstalled system on top of current system same result. when boot bios screen, ubuntu logo , stops @ system checks. not lock up. has flashing cursor. , appreciated. if can still see files when running live cd, copy them on external storage. there no need use photorec, boot hdd or reinstall anything. i'd advise looking @ when disk utility has state of hdd. hard drive may dead or dying.
