hello, coworker has build ubuntu server x64 10.04.3 lts used general purpose stuff. 1 of "stuff" local repository / mirror (apt-mirror) sync'd , working fine. server has it's own sources.list pointing himself (it's self ip address). when run apt-get update, gets updated "himself" (the mirror) fine, starts download packages http://old-releases.ubuntu.com karmic release , many other karmic too. can old package makes behavour? karmic not mentioned @ nor in sources.list nor mirror.list. when run 'apt-get upgrade', tries upgrade sun-java-jre karmic repo. suggestion? ubuntu server running apt mirror. mirror sync lucid. sources.list sync'd himself karmic appears nothing... regards, i found something... reason admin has installed php 5.2 , added karmic.list inside sources.list.d conflicting other packages. @ least found making this. ...

i saved logo i've completed @ work using cs6, , saved in cs5 format , pdf. when open them both (one in illustrator , other in adobe reader) both have cloudy, hazy effect on them. colours aren't bright , crisp when saved them @ work in cs6. have them saved rgb well...at least that's showed document colour mode when checked it.   anything explain this? i've had before never thought until now. i'd love know causes it! color management - or lack of same. have either mis-tweaked monitor's color or using specific, possibly wrong color profiles without using color management in adobe apps. boils down these basic facts, opens whole universe of complication. in case, have reading do.... start resetting system's color settings factory defaults , work way through info can find on teh subject on teh internet.   mylenium More discussions in Illustrator adobe

my asus motherboard uses alc892 sound chip. built-in dac supports 16/20/24-bit pcm format. using precise alpha1. can play 24bit audio files without having them converted down 16bit? read pulseaudio wouldn't let me default settings, , using alsa audacious 3.1, audacious returns "snd_pcm_hw_params_set_format failed: argument invalide." when setting flow depth 24, works fine on 16. yes should able play 24bit..with alsa & right applications.. don't trust pulse audio work yet.. clementine 1.0 can play 24bit 96/192khz. test with: speaker-test -c 2 -r 48000 -f xxxx -d hw:0,1 xxxx =[s8, s16_le, s16_be, float_le, s32_le, s32_be] try float_le & s32_le & s32_be & hw:0,1 other devices.. post aplay -l imo pointless playing 24bit on-board soundcard using analogue output. hello,   i'm working on 16pp id file contains around 80 small images. i'm working cs6, client cs3, have export idml, friend open in cs4 , export/save down cs3.   when client working in cs3 opens file, of images grey boxes , image names not show in links panel. there word 'foo' in place of every link name.   any suggestions? saving down far no no?....or there way of doing without corrupting image link names?   thanks much. indesign not inheritently embed images file - links them on hard drive.   you need use file>package , inside packaged folders can save .idml file.   you need zip folder , send friend. open idml file , export .inx within folder.   your friend needs rezip entire folder inlcuding links , indesign files , send you/client.     hope helps. i'm beginning unity more , more. doesn't work right (yes, thing) way in unity launcher (doesn't) remind empathy conversation. 1. friend sends chat message. 2. envelope, @ top right, lights up. 3. click on , see there message waiting in empathy. 4. click on , chat window opens. 5. reply , minimise window while continue working. 6. when friend replies back, unity icon wiggles, telling replied. 7. if away desk, have missed icon wiggle , there nothing informing me replied. not envelope lit up. time envelope seems light when new conversation started. , icon gets little number when new conversation started else. not particularly intuitive. know if developers evolving obvious notification flaw? case in point. installed pidgin , removed empathy. pidgin notifies me correctly (as per previous post). integration seems equally polished (more or less), , pidgin's speed bit snappier. confuses me why...
