we recieved notice requesting download latest version xi of adobe reader.  run windows 7.  did update said there patch installed it.  said upgrade successful.  re-booted computer.  after re-boot , trying adobe reader open pdf try's goes dark grey screen.  removed adobe reader , tried again.  samething.  can not open pdf still same dark grey screen.  once dark grey screen open won't close unless shut down system.  have suggestions how fix it. can open adobe reader itself?  if so, try disabling protected mode [edit | preferences | security (enhanced)].   if not resolve problem, display adapter, device driver version & date?  see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765 More discussions in Acrobat Reader adobe

i accidently posted in wrong forum, here's problem:   hey everyone,   i work large pdf files (sometimes 1000 page documents) , move pages 1 pdf sometimes.  i've found acrobat xi pro terrible it's stability.  having program crash 5 10 times per day.  it's pretty crazy because had 5-10 crashes per year acrobat x pro.  i'm wondering if it's new font flattening or whatever makes happen?   anyway, i've found crash when have thumbnail pages on left in view, , scroll through thumbnail pics.  if scroll through them fast (like rolling down web page fast) crashes, , mean constantly.  have adapted use of program go slow - "a 4 year old child might scroll down web page" slow.  , still crashes.  it's pretty shocking.   i don't mind, it's huge pain can still work... here's thing.  if crashes while writing in text box can ruin of notes on entire document.  font still there turns bunch of xxxxxxxxxxx's boxes around them.  can ma...

this weird me. downloaded mint 12 try. wife moving lucid lynx. anyway had go on dvd. stuck disk in try , amazed @ how mint worked off dvd. , downloaded 11.10 , copied cd. seemed typical ubuntu live cd me. can't tell nothing , hangs up. anyway morning copied iso dvd , works mint did. both disks of 11.10 iso copied same file using brasero , have never had live cd. doesn't make sense me thought throw out there. it indeed kind of strange. never had problems ubuntu livecd's. did try using different cd brand? hello, all. purchased design & web premium cs6 (note well: suite, not creative cloud) on dec 31 , used of other apps, have been working in indesign in last few weeks. late noticing weird: have middle eastern version installed. i'm licensed english, somehow that's i've got. don't know if affects other apps, indesign, messes lot of stuff (documents set right side binding default, text flow wrong direction etc).   i should add downloaded via ftp link adobe, rather download manager, never able work me (it end of download , fail—tried oodles of times).   i have been given understand though it's same download, shouldn't issue.   is there way force indesign serve me usa english version?   i've tried adobe chat support this, didn't receive (he wanted me call indesign product support, 90 days past). btw, running win 8 pro. this weird. new ultra-skookum powerbook 16 gb of ram , 512 gb flash drive grinds 1989 snail's pace while doing basic markup in acrobat 11. click on , 5 seconds passes before selected. moving callout boxes jumping-all-over-the-page affair. ideas? i see further reading appears retina support issue - in acrobat not support well. unfortunately unusable on powerbook - well, usuable, far slow , jumpy work practically. adobe resolve in future update soon. have acrobat 11.0.02, current of may 1, 2013. i have asus netbook eee pc series 1011 , have installed ubuntu 11.10. have read people have had luck installing ubuntu desktop on these netbooks on eeebuntu versions , seems me working few exceptions have no idea how fix. 1) first issue internet connection. wire plugged in , setup ipv4 settings per required internet setup have in house. don't have access router here, have rj-45 plug wall computer. each of has address, netmask, gateway , dns server numbers. have same setup on normal laptop here using windows. network , connections work fine. on netbook, when open firefox keep trying connect. doesn't return server not found, interestingly though i'm sure i'm close not quite there yet. can't see how couldn't use same ipv4 settings on netbook unless issue, seems rather unlikely. if has ideas love hear them. 2) in using software center never see install button. have idea why might be? thanks! ...

i installed lightroom 4.4 on brand new imac 1.5 months ago. able import files 4-5 times in first month, last 3 times i've tried, error 681 says files cannot read. i'm using common files, .orf canon 5d mark ii. i've tried getting files fuji x100s , fuji xpro1.   i haven't installed on machine other vsco lightroom presets, worked fine on previous imports.   anyone have ideas?   scott does happen or of images? anyway doesn't sound quite right here…   the .orf extension indicates olympus raw format, canon's e.g. .cr2   has memory card been used in different cameras?   i have seen errors yours , caused formatting issues memory card:   the cards had never been formatted , instead people had been deleting files manually using finder (or win explorer). the cards had been formatted in different camera model 1 later used taking images. the cards used until totally full, can lead file corruption. i trying install gnome shell seperate login session in ubuntu 11.10. have tried installing through ubuntu software center , through terminal using command "sudo apt-get install gnome-shell". although installation completed each time still doesn't show login session @ login screen. 1 thing worth mentioning installed mate few days ago in order test out. surprise, when logged out , went select mate in ubuntu login screen, saw gnome , gnome-classic (fallback) sessions there well. since didn't mate much, removed manually through terminal , since didn't have use gnome , gnome-classic sessions removed them well. note removed sessions , not files/packages of each one. tried removing , re-installing gnome shell package again today see if trick still won't show seperate session. appreciated! what deleted, "gnome" "gnome shell" far know. sorry can't of assistance re fixing...

how u speed ram? what????? not make _any_ sense! don't "speed up" ram. can increase clock in bios (i.e. overclocking) make run faster, a) void warranty b) more overheat c) unstable. if meant "make computer less laggy" or similar, suggest checking startup applications, run less programs @ once, keep background processes minimum or (last resort) buy more. bonjour.   je roule sous macos 10.8 à jour sur un imac 27" late 2009, avec tablette graphique wacom cth-661 spécial edition (derniers pilotes en date) et la cs6 master collection aussi à jour.   j'ai un problème d'affichage avec indesign, je ne sais pas si c'est le fait d'un bug ou d'une fonctionnalité du logiciel. mais lorsque je presse alt et que j'approche le stylet de la tablette (simplement poser la main pour approcher le stylet de la surface de sorte que je puisse reprendre la main sur le pointeur) j'ai mon affichage qui dézoome. si j'approche et que j'éloigne deux ou trois fois de suite le stylet je me retrouve avec un affichage à 05% de la maquette.   Ça peut paraitre anodin et anecdotique mais lorsque je bosse sur un boulot ou il me faut dupliquer plusieurs fois des éléments avec alt + clic maintenu sur l'objet et déplacement, je passe mon temps à lacher le stilet pour rezoom...

w hen make selection , press enter, nothing happens.  selection not made.  have reset tools default.  hi budro i have never hit enter when making selection.   end point should meet start point in many instances.  if using quick selection tool let go left mouse button initial selection appears, can add, subtract etc.  see marching ants , know selection made.  if want make further selection in same image following can save initial selection - "save selection" name such "sky" or "dog" etc.  under select drop-down box this. kind regards jim More discussions in Photoshop Elements adobe
