Autoformat - why oh why??

good morning.

 

i creating form multiple text fields.

some of text goes before these fields of different length (amazing huh??) won't let me have longer text first box???

 

please help, i'm loosing hair on 1

annoying formatting.jpg

at top there selector have "labels left", "labels right", or "labels top".  when labels left or right of first fields in rows tied far caption width.  can resize resizing caption (as show in screen shot) of 1 left hand field balance works of fields.  if set labels top won't have deal @ , label sizes independant.  hope helpful.  let me know if have more questions.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
