Can't fill pencil shapes?

so basically, when make complete circle pencil, i'm able fill paint bucket, when make half circle pencil, draw other half of circle pencil 2 different strokes, can't fill in paint bucket. object drawing if off. idea why won't fill?

to fiull form has closed, zoom in connection points of drawings , see if there "holes" in outline

for example: form won`t fill because of missing connectiong in enlarged view

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
