compatibility of cs6 and cc versions

just wondering if can i've been going around , around on adobe site trying work out , patience wearing thin.

i owner of small business 2 complete work stations running design premium 5.5

i have purchased third workstation occupied few days per week, , thinking i'd upgrade cs6 on 2 machines , purchase new cs6 edition third workstation. until yesterday's announcement of subscription focus is.

i not terribly interested in going across subscription 2 workstations have 5.5 on them, particularly because large investment purchase legitimate copies of software , continue upgrade them on years.  seems such waste of money.

so, thinking, if set new workstation on subscription (it seems inevitable being pushed towards this), files upgraded cs6 workstations compatible cc, or there issues working , forth between two?

however, seems adobe has me backed corner. $2850 investment have workstations running on cs6 seemed idea, subscription announcement yesterday i'm not sure whether i'd throwing money down drain speak. 2 versions compatible? best throw out fine design premium 5.5 editions , start again scratch subscription?

thanks insight or can offer.

  • as of right (with creative cloud running cs6 apps) most of files compatible, cloud-only features alter file contents of course not supported in perpetually-licensed version.
  • when new version (cc) ships, of applications include support saving files cs6-compatible formats. cs6 officially become legacy version @ time.
