why many functions want , need use unavailable use?  project on elements 11.  can use few of functions.  i've been trying transform picture, , i've been trying duplicate layer won't allow me.  getting frusterating!  please help?

are on expert mode?

its in top bar of editor, once enter expert mode expert option highlighted, please check screenshot:

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
