PC to Mac - What Codec for Quicktime?

i putting clips on pc (premiere pro cs5) transferred mac final cut editing.  question mac final cut users...  premiere, can export in quicktime format know.  clips 720p. there plethora of codecs choose from.  old garbage nobody uses.  best codec use?  want maintain high quality (but not uncompressed) , @ same time want give mac person files commonly used high quality codec won't give final cut fit or create "fuzzy" final export.  did sample export in h264 - 720p.  looked great, decent codec use editing in final cut?  suggestions appreciated.

h.264 not best choice intermediate.  prores norm, that's not available you.  animation might best bet.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
