ubuntu 11.10 64 bit

linksys wireless-g broadband router wrt54g v2

i'm prepared changing isp. i'm running adsl 6mb download speed, wire lan connection. new isp shall provide 4mb/4mb dsl wireless lan connection. captioned wireless router provided new isp.

after searching on internet found data transfer rate of wireless router 54 mbps. sufficient internet connection of 4mb/4mb. slow transfer of data on lan. there suggestion other requesting new isp supplying wireless router 1g data transfer rate?

furthermore problem on installing linksys wireless network interface card linux pc?

the router has ethernet don't have use wireless. @ 54 mb/s can expect around 5 mb/s (8 bits byte) when transferring files between machines on network under optimal conditions. using fast ethernet (100 mb/s) can expect around 12 mb/s when transferring files. on gigabit ethernet (1,000 mb/s) can expect as hard disks can deliver anywhere between 50 mb/s 120 mb/s. use gigabit ethernet might need switch, router handle internet connection , switch plugged router, , machines plugged switch.
