Thread: Broken VGA-out?

hi all,

i'm not sure if should go here or in café section being more general hardware question, anyhow, here goes. i've had hp elitebook 6930p on 3 years (just enough pop guarantee), , vga-out stopped working. usual setup has been keep laptop connected external monitor or tv, keyboard , mouse lid closed. 1 morning external monitor black; signal, couldn't see anything. flicking around settings, somehow managed see desktop. however, looked had low resolution few colors. in addition, seemed flickering little whenever moved mouse. , when clicked on (e.g., right-click on desktop), went black again! can't showing on tv.

think has happened? graphics card broken, , if so, can done it?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
