Thread: grub and rsync

backed-up ubuntu[orig] on /dev/sda9 exthd using rsync
restored ubuntu[bu] exthd new partition on /dev/sda8
modified fstab of ubuntu[bu] on /dev/sda8 point sda8
ran grub-update on ubuntu[control] /dev/sda7
have 3 instances of ubuntu[control, orig, bu]. however, when choose sda8[bu], sda9[orig] ubuntu instance loaded.
else needs modified on ubuntu[bu] /dev/sda8 ?
both grub & fstab have entries partitions, device, label, or uuid. need update grub. if booting 1 install should let directly boot other installs.
post see entire configuration. new test version of boot script try. download script directly. post results.txt inside code tags. copy & highlight contents of script , click on # in edit panel above post auto add code tags.

v60 has improved formating , requires code tags make legible. new version zip file have extract .sh run.
install these before running script:
sudo apt-get install gawk
sudo apt-get install xz-utils
