Thread: HDMI Audio Out?

hello all,

have custom-made pc has hdmi output. picked hdtv, , output audio it, since going use htpc of sorts.

unable hdmi audio output work through tools available in unity, dug deeper. used command 'aplay -l' full list of audio output devices, used 'aplay -d' play test sound find out 1 hdmi audio output (there 4 listed in 'aplay -l'.

found out values needed are; card 1, device 7.

created ~/.asoundrc file, per archlinux wiki. contents of ~/.asoundrc file is:

still, audio not work after restart. can test work, however. have feeling unity may overriding settings in .asoundrc file, i'm not positive.

have tips?

i guess didn't check new settings deep enough. got thrown off fact have set sound settings in few places...

solved now.
