Thread: Installed - Booted OK - But Not Again

dual booting windows 7 installed first. grub working ok.

after initial install of ubuntu went well. rebooted, chose ubuntu & got black screen. waited minute or 2 used ctrl alt del & system rebooted.

tried again, time booted ubuntu.

rebooted ubuntu, again got black screen, ctrl alt del, rebooted.

ubuntu. time blinking cursor in top left & [ok] near centre of screen.

waited again, nothing. ctrl alt del, & saw 'update' flash on screen.

know what's going on?

what distro using?

11.04, 11.10 or ?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
