Thread: Preventing boot sector virus infection

hello,

not sure if correct forum post this. so, posting in security discussions forum.

want prevent getting boot sector virus booting infected storage device. now, have set bios computer boot hard drive , nothing else. hard drive first in boot sequence , 1 number in front(only devices preceded number bootable).

prevent getting boot sector virus infected medium inadvertently left plugged computer @ bootup/shutdown?

i haven't run boot sector virii in long time - not since floppy disks norm.

if have set boot internal drive, there little no risk of getting type of virus.
