Thread: rsynch server tutorial

hi all,
using ubuntu 10.4.3 lts, , want set rsynch server on desktop periodically synch laptops itself, , other laptops. i've never done before, , i'm looking simple tutorial can me , running fast.

although can set rsync daemon implement that, think using rsync on ssh work fine (i think it's easier configure, too).

unattended scripts recommend setting ssh 'public keys' (so can connect no passwords).

backup schedule can use crontab.

help?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
