hi,

have graphics card needs 3.2 kernel work properly. kernel compiles fine, yet there thing don't understand. when download , expand archive of 3.2-rc7 kernel.org, directory of 550 mb. however, after compiling kernel , making deb file command

fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image kernel_headers

source directory whopping 7.9 g! understand directory larger after compilation, seems tad excessive. have tried on fresh install, , i've encountered same phenomenon. can explain what's going on here? thanks!

your compiling kernel debug info can disable before compile .

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
