e: package indicator-displex needs reinstalled, can't find archive it.
e: internal error opening cache (1). please report.
o_o do fix this?

try with:

sudo dpkg --remove --force-depends --force-remove-reinstreq indicator-displex
if fails remove files beginning package name /var/lib/dpkg/info/ , try again.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
