hi,
looking advice/recommendations. thinking of moving ubuntu world of tv.
have pvr facility seems complex area , happy settle viewing tv through card if more realistic currently. want freeview,
grateful advice if steer clear moment.

i've been using metv recorder 3 years on pc @ top of house doesn't used else. because wifi coverage not there, copy recorded programs via memory stick media computer , play them through our main tv.

works, i've left ubuntu @ 10.04 , metv @ v1.1.2 , not bothered updating. did write app in gambas start-up , shut down pc based upon recording times. think broke metv update, , haven't had time or inclination fix it. turn computer on before program starts, set record feature (which starts recording 5 mins before, , stops 10 mins after) , try remember power damn thing off before go bed.


i'm using digital tv card, rather usb device.

miss programs , forget record them....so thank goodness bbc iplayer!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
