<cfpresentation> does not keep formatting as coded

i creating ppt using <cfpresentation> tag using coldfusion 9.0.1.  presentation gets generated, information within not getting displayed coded.  using <div> tags specify font size,weight, , margins. however, when generated in ppt, font size, , margins different specified.  have <ul> lists out title followed - , comment.  when generated in ppt, title given , - comment follows, space before , after - not being displayed correctly.  shows, oftentimes if title longer looks starting underneath title , continues.  frustrating slide dynamically generated , data different each time,  programming these anomalies not acceptable.  ideas on how make code , presentation show coded, i.e. font size, margins etc.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
