Issues with downloads

i have continually been getting messages download , install latest version of flash player, after having done many times on past few weeks. message installation successful. deal? also, why adobe, , many others, insist on installing toolbars , programs not interested. uncheck have opportunity , stuff don't want still gets uploaded computer. can answer these questions me?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
