Opening PDF on internet and elsewhere

i have updated adobe x. since have had problems opening pdf eg ones on internet , attached emails , stops opening automatically when making pdfs word documents. work couple of "opens" after "repaired" fails  again. driving me crazy wasting time , and cannot access documents on web. bug or there wrong system.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
