Previews missing from Canon Raw Files

on last few imports both nikon d800 .nef files , canon .cr2 files previews missing.  machine

mac pro tower

2.66ghz 8gig ram plenty of hd space  running 10.6.8   adobe photoshop cs6 updates both adobe products , mac os have been installed.   camera raw upto date.

 

so when using camera downloader in bridge files down load fine.  when navigate folder @ files have white icon of file type not jpeg preview.   i   have reset bridge, emptyed folder main cach , still happens.    question how fix this?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
