RoboHelp 8 does not successfully produce PDF - Acrobat conflict?

i'm relatively new robohelp user. i'm using robohelp 8 updated (is 8.0.2?), on xp sp3 system, both word 2003 , 2007. can generate .doc, not pdf. have acrobat professional 8 installed, , if robohelp installed acrobat essentials (is correct), i'm pretty sure uninstalled in when cleverly "culling" installed programs.

 

what happens is, fine until actualy pdf creation phase, acrobat professional comes up, , that's ends, until try doing something, results in robohelp giving me fail produce pdf message.

 

diagnosis? prognosis?  thanks!

 

oh, also: can install tcs 4 on existing robohelp 8 installation, , use robohelp 8 or 10 interchangeably (like can word 2003 , word 2007)?

if can create word doc outside of rh , pdf that, you've got problem haven't heard about. chances can't (pdf creation outside of rh), option uninstall flavours of acrobat (distiller & reader), , reinstall acrobat pro.

 

if load tcs4, can still preserve rh8 install , use rh10 well, careful acrobat again - different versions don't play nice on same machine; should uninstall & reinstall tcs4.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
