Thread: changeing/add themes in 11.10


please excuse newb , first dive windows.
cannot figure out how change/add theme in 11.10
when open appearance tab in settings see no way change . have downloaded few .tar.gz theme files have no idea on how intsall them.

(installing downloaded themes / icons)

use gtk 3 themes ubuntu 11.10

download , extract packages .

install gnome tweak tool / advanced settings software center making theme selections.

(single user) create .themes , .icons folder in home / hidden folders . use ctrl + h open hidden folder option in nautilus .

(all users) use gksudo nautilus in terminal open file system , navigate / usr / share / themes or icons .

place folders in either location . make theme selections using advanced settings > themes . logout - in may required .
