Thread: Combine features of different input methods

i want have 2 different features concerning input methods.

first, want have custom compose key combinations. use ~/.xcompose, in order make work had change default input method xinput (i added “export gtk_im_module="xim"” ~/.profile achieve this).

second, want unicode chars through entering codepoints. possible ctrl+shift+u (see end of this article). unfortunately seems not working xim imput method.

suggestions how 2 features simultaneously?
