ok here's dumb question of day.

@ advantages of having dock , why might want use one?.

how differ having various fast links/icon etc in bottom panel?

i've never bothered thinking 1 until now.

aesthetics mainly, don't think there functional or practical reason make you'd want one. personal choice, want dock or don't want dock.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
