Thread: Fails to load at 'checking battery state'

my current hardware..... amd64 1050t hex core cpu asus m5a99x-evo motherboard 16gbs of corsair xms ram 850 psu nvidia 430 gpu (palit 2gbs of gpu ram).. running 11.10 64bit... been pretty flawless, unitil stops on line checking battery state.... have googled issue, have taken advice on blogs , forum , stiil it.... list includes removing , reinstalling nvidia module... above light dm switching gdm still it... tried ati card still it.. restarted x restarted ldm etc. etc. etc... @ loss one.... first time in years, ubuntu has become unstable....

i had same issue. when used nvidia graphics driver. removed x.conf file , worked.. not sure if you've tried this...

sudo mv /etc/x11/xorg.conf /etc/x11/xorg.conf.backup

note renames x.conf file if doesnt work can change , no worse off...

put back:

sudo mv /etc/x11/xorg.conf.backup /etc/x11/xorg.conf
