i following walkthrough:

, ran command @ end , removed ubuntu desktop. still login screen when log in goes right log in screen. advise?

not sure if it's gonna work, try this:

  • boot in 'recovery mode' option (you may have press , hold 'shift' key while booting bring grub menu)
  • choose "root" option (drop root shell prompt) in recovery menu
  • issue command: apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop
  • reboot normal mode , see if allows log-in.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
