Thread: How to remove programt that both IS and IS NOT recognized as installed?

so installed makehuman-alpha turns out need makehuman-nightly instead. dl , click open on makehuman-nightly installer on oneiric says "conflicts makehuman-alpha". try remove using packages thingy @ left there appears makehuman-alpha not installed.

know that's long-winded. need remove 'alpha can install 'nightly. installed 'alpha deb package dl'd makehuman.org. why oneiric not recognize installed can remove it?

if type "makehuman" terminal 'alpha insallation load , run. oneiric know makehuman-alpha there, calling "makehuman". how can remove 'alpha version start on 'nightly version? searching packages utility on both "makehuman" , "makehuman-alpha" turns nothing found being installed. kind of makes hard remove.

that small l after dpkg. post results.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
