Thread: MP3 player fails to mount properly in MTP mode (Ubuntu 11.10)

i have sandisk sansa clip mp3 player not mounting correctly since did clean install of ubuntu 11.10.

have installed mtpfs , mtp-tools packages. verified have latest version of firmware mp3 player installed.

when plug mp3 player pc, not appear in either nautilus file manager nor under /media in terminal.

when run "mtp-detect" command following:

after outputting "attempting connect device(s)" system hangs , have control-c cursor back.

please note if put mp3 player msc mode mount correctly. audio files on not appear:

the reason want use mtp mode use gpodder downloading podcasts , copy podcast mp3 player. mtp mode gpodder supports.

please note able use mp3 player in mtp mode gpodder under ubuntu 11.04.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
