Thread: Ubuntu won't restart when multiple users are logged in

suppose 1 user logged in, , leave computer , screensaver fires. when user gets on computer, select "switch user" , log in. if user tries restart computer, won't restart. sit @ welcome screen.

notice, nothing frozen or locked. can continually try restart or shutdown login screen, nothing happens. if log in original user, proceed shutdown/reboot.

why? how can fixed?

that's bug in scripting( unless first user admin , second user isn't)..., should see warning message telling other users logged in... report @ launchpad

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
