Thread: Unbootable after Ubuntu uninstall

i have dell computer (older) 2 75gb harddrives. windows xp home, , until ubuntu. did anewb thing , uninstalled ubuntu without fixing mbr. unfortunately i'm unbootable no live cd or windows recovery disk. made windowsxp install disk on bootable usb. (mounted , wrote iso power iso) , plugged in , restarted. boot menu shows hard drive removable media , cd rom when selected automatically proceeds grub rescue prompt. need exact commands woukd need enter boot windows xp up. still there.. cant it. remember, no live cd or windows cds.

if usb xp boot install screen, section on "reinstating windows' may help.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
