Thread: Update doesn't work

i've been unable update system several. when run "sudo apt-get update" this:

e: not lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: resource temporarily unavailable)  e: unable lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/

the system acting weird. , of course cannot upgrade, kind of error message. suggestions? help.

from error received, appears have package manager open. make sure of them closed, try again.
