Thread: Why Ubuntu when you don't like the design?

i'm using ubuntu because believe unity taking ui in direction want go , 1 of other distributions going somewhere else. i've been minimally involved, see people clamoring changes go against direction unity going; against, not off side. 2 cases come mind: menu bar, , options.

think mr. shuttleworth has indicated global menu bar remain in unity. details may change, how dash trigger button, basic idea fixed.

don't know there's embargo against making options, building on gnome , going "better mac os" (not exact quote) indicates me ubuntu unity not going ui adds option upon option other linux uis do.

so, i'm wondering, why people, opposed direction unity going, flocking when there other uis more in line desires? why there open bug report against things design choices? why brainstorm solutions of "add option" type popular?

dunno if true. seems me unity has been catalyst (previously) complacent users appreciate full range of choices available.

, feel better when complain publicly.
