can't convert from acrobat std 7.1.0...help

i can not convert files more acrobat 7.1.0.

trying converting windows docx stops after while (printer show "spooling" ) .

 

from acrobat can convert small .txt file. 

tried reinstall, delete acrobat printer , reinstall, shut down , reboot... nothing....

 

any suggestion????many thx

things see if working correctly.

 

1. open word, make small document, print adobe pdf. work?

2. still in word, use acrobat button make pdf. work?

3. save file, leave word running. use acrobat try make pdf word document. work?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
