Memory use with PSE 11 on my Mac

my imac has 12 gb of ram - when go preferences on photoshop elements version 11,  can pse 11 use 3 gb of ram. 

 

i doing photomerge panoramas, , when want fill in blank borders of final image, pse tells me there not enough ram perform task.

 

how can pse use more ram on intel imac ?

pse 32 bit application, means 3 gb ram can ever use. can increase bit in editor>preferences>performance, don't push way 100. stop @ around 90% best results. helps if have plenty of free disk space pse use scratch disk.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
