i learned hard way it's not idea store quickbooks file on dropbox try share between 2 computers. don't save file in quickbooks; automatically updates. can cause major problems.
on 1 computer , ran payroll, , sent in e-payment of federal taxes. later, got on other computer , opened quickbooks. problem opened old file before dropbox client had chance update. since quickbooks automatically saves file whenever done, saved old version of file , gave time stamp of after real latest version of file. since had later time stamp, dropbox synchronized file before sent in tax e-payment, meant going have run again, though had been paid.
ended working magic on first computer , fixed it. can bet first thing did quickbooks file off of dropbox , on local drive.
