Thread: Problem with Epson Stylus SX420W

hi,

i'm trying epson stylus sx420w printer work on ubuntu 10.04, i'm failing.

i've downloaded , installed latest pacackage few times (http://avasys.jp/eng/linux_driver/do...n-inkjet/escp/ - epson-inkjet-printer-nx420_1.0.0-1lsb3.2_i386.deb). installation went fine (while printer unplugged).

connect printer, starts "printing" infinite (or @ least, lot!) blank pages. can't printer stop using buttons on printer , printer-queue empty (system->administration->printers->view printer queue).

when connect printer windows laptop, works fine.

can me?

i have older epson printer , have working using cups.

try that, open browser , enter "localhost:631". start cups.

use option add printer , see if finds epson. if does, continue through process, including choosing driver -- , see if works.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
