Thread: SDL application on Ubuntu

i using sdl , ubuntu. have not written programs while , have gotten it. not keen on gtk+ , notice programs use global application menu (?) rather have menus in application window. there way able write menus global application menu using sdl not gtk? hacks? or code examples?

the global application menu hack. unity looks gtk+ menus , moves them itself. if run same gtk+ applications on regular gnome, kde or else, menus in main window normal.

anyway, far know, there no way sdl render outside of window.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
