sorry if in wrong place posted thought correct please move if needed. problem have acer aspire 1 netbook windows 7 starter dualbooted latest ubuntu believe it's 11.10. have no wifi believe need fix broadcom sta drivers after reading long time on forum closest find go wired fix tried plugging in ethernet have not work well. flashes if loading says wired network disconnected. idea how can fix appreciated have ubuntu on desktop , have liked linux every time have tried install on netbook same problem wireless not working , want work using windows 7 nightmare. thankyou in advance replies worth mentioning no expert should if possible in step step beginner form please.

try plugging in lan cable , rebooting.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
