Thread: Updating and Upgrading

i have bought official ubuntu book sixth edition , update 10.04 11.04. on page 108 paragraph moving next ubuntu release says book has been revised latest version - 11.04.
next paragraph doing actual upgrade says when new release available upgrade manager tells when new version of ubuntu available , walks through upgrade process. don't remember ever seeing alert new ubuntu release 11.04 available. book says need click on upgrade button start process. opened upgrade manager there no upgrade button. installed updates anyway still in 10.04.
difference (if any) between update , upgrade?
need new cd version 11.04 in order update/upgrade?

not used older versions of ubuntu try first...
in terminal write:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -y

if doesnt work download , burn on disc..
