Thread: Webcam issue

hi,

have asus n61j running ubuntu 11.10.

webcam used work cheese , skype today stopped working. (i did not install drivers manually it). webcam internal laptop.

cheese black screen (not allowing me click on in menu) , skype video devices option has usb 2.0 uvc 2m webcam (/dev/video0) option. clicking "test" button nothing in skype.

not sure how test , solve problem, searches on forum or google gave responses did not correspond problem (it seemed).

please give me bit of help? appreciate.

webcam used work in cheese , skype. not sure why it's not working anymore, don't recall major recent install, except software updates ubuntu itself.

i hope can you, bear in mind camera might broken, in mechanical defect. easiest option might end being external one.
