Thread: What colour depth should my graphics card be set at?!

everything working should. using ati hd 5570 grahpics (asus eah 5570). think colour. (wallpapers etc.) show show little degradation.

ran command in terminal, following output:

:~$ cat /etc/x11/xorg.conf | grep depth
defaultdepth 24
defaultdepth 24
depth 24
defaultdepth 24
depth 24
i'm sure graphics should higher this?. if so, how can amend this. have looked in ati catalyst control center, can't see option change this.

ati catalyst control center version 11.8. default, 11.10 install. using restricted drivers. running unity.

depth 24 (which 32) correct modern gpu's.

unity , catalyst known not playing nice together. may want try catalyst 11-12.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
