Thread: What happened to GNOME Classic Login!

ok... so, dumb dumb , erased entire hard disk (and did use of ubuntu 11.10 installation cd choice of replace entire disk cutting power started erasing partitions , using old dos 6.20 installation diskette fdisk clean!)

now, when went install ubuntu 11.10, surprised find favorite login choice of "gnome classic" disappeared. thought told there (and there until decided start over).

have rant how lame "ubuntu" login choice fails? mean, while in firefox, windows using main menu bar @ top of screen , not @ top of window suppose be. many times inconvenient may have many things going on @ once, , using workspace right not work @ all.

cannot tell there other windows open @ when maximize current window in. shell lame cannot begin rant adequately enough give needs.

at login in screen have checked 'sessions' tab gnome classic? should boot when selected , next time boot default.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
