Thread: Wireless USB adapter stopped working...

dear forum.

im new forum , new ubuntu well...

problem. have dell presicion desktop pc running ubuntu 11.10. bought wireless usb adapter "gigabyte gn-wb01gs". after starting problems worked fine, did not have install driver, worked.

few months later had move pc room (wireless signal worse, not problem). after moved pc not manage work...wheter boot adapter or not...

used have network symbol next volume control upper right, not visible anymore...however, when disconnect adapter, short pop saying "you offline"

moreover, when click on icon on desktop, or issue shut down/restart, seems hang...only when remove adapter usb port pc gets alive again.

being new ubuntu, have no clue...other reinstall sw.

have tip should start loook ?

edit: problem weak signal + seems when ubuntu not find wireless network in range, keeps on searching , whole system hangs...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
