Thread: 3 monitors on 11.10 - catalyst keeps crashing

until have been running 10.10 , there worked charm. had catalyst installed 2 hd3600 radeons , work 3 monitors. after long consideration updated 11.10 , (of course) nothing works anymore.

ubuntu 10.10 official amd catalyst driver 1 let me configure 2 graphic cards figured best shot 11.10. newest version (11.12) installs fine when try make changes settings crashes when press 'apply'. how driver working can have monitors in use. else experience these crashes?

i run 2 monitors, had same problem catalyst crashing when trying save settings (with ubu, xubu , lubuntu). don't know if way it, easiest way me. install kde desktop; log kde session; configure , save catalyst settings; logout log ubuntu session.

of course, installing kde desktop uses hefty amount of disk space , adds bunch of apps clutter system menu... made catalyst control center functional. enjoy using kde session occasionally.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
