Thread: Advice for building a PC

for 3 mos i've been wanting destop build. spent tens of hours compiling different lists, configurations, looking @ prices, etc. i've been tossing around idea of getting new laptop. absolute minumum desktop happy there's no way less $1500 (even @ it's sacrifice in want it's floor). if laptop might away 2/5 cost pretty decent setup (but won't able stuff wanted desktop - well, not anyway). have these evil, evil... suckers hard drive prices shooting through roof right when i'm ready start build! (i'm kidding evil part, well, anyway). grrr...

there's 1 laptop looked at; on surface @ least, seems pretty decent deal. thing is, it's bestbuy. can decent computer bestbuy? or that, like, , oxymoron or something?

has amd quad core a8 3500m processor , 8 gb of ddr3 (probably 1333 don't on detail). 640 gb hard drive it's 5400 rpm drive. thought, maybe, put hard drive in laptop (which has 30 gb drive) , 7200 rpm drive new laptop. w/ i'd still getting off way cheaper desktop build. i'm little unsure of details cpu in laptop though. maybe here knows more it? i'm pretty sure have virtualization technology (which absolute must me - or no deal). wonder kind of graphics have going on in thing , whether i'll run headaches trying run linux on (oh yes! whatever end getting - turned linux machine. let there no doubt! ).

if go desktop build route, there assertions can make that:

have 3, count them, 3 hard drives , they'll @ least 2 tb ea.

have @ least 16 gb ram , ram @ min 1600 mhz

it'll have @ least quad core chip in - amd, phenom ii

mobo true uefi (not fake, ad hock stuff gigabyte does)

it'll dual monitor (cheap 20" monitors @ $100 pop , inexpensive graphics card - dual hdmi)

it'll need have plenty of psu, can sure of (i'd prefer run @ around 50/60 % not above say, 75 or 80 %).

it'll have card reader super cheap

it'll have @ least multi drive optical drive , maybe, maybe, make blueray drive

that's pretty on that, part.


do? want desktop build, it's gonna top ramen next 4 mos. better hope enjoy heck out of desktop if go route cause it's i'll get.

laptop? there here buy computer bestbuy? graphics on thing funky that'll give me grief w/ linux? whadaya think?

soo...you build high-end system cheap graphics? building ferrari volkswagen motor...

note: rediculously high hdd prices because of flood in thailand hdds manufactured, production stands still beginning december 2011. why still available hdds 2x price...its not make them expensive on purpouse (i hella lucky find 1 of last 1,5 tb drive @ local store 50€ while prices on net skyrocketed)
