hello,

have asus 1015pc-mu17 bu netbook. have ubuntu 10.04 lts installed

found microphone isn't working. hissing noise when volume raised.

here lspci says audiocontroller.

00:1b.0 audio device: intel corporation n10/ich 7 family high definition audio controller (rev 02)

saw elsewhere should install pavucontrol, did duplicate functionality of sound control applet on gnome panel

double check mic settings first, if nothing still, do:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
then
code:
 sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
then
code:
sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)
reboot.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
